• Obeying God’s instructions.

My son, do not forget my teaching especially when you enter the promised land. Do not depart from me.

When you have nothing, it’s easier to depend on God because you desperately need his intervention. Queen Vashti was summoned by the King and felt too important to respond. She was then replaced by Queen Esther who almost run from her assignment but God in his wisdom sent Mordecai to remind her that she was placed in her position for such a time as this!

What are some things that God is calling you to do and what lame excuses are you presenting? Do you feel that they are too meagre for you? Or is it that you prefer a private life. Could it be that you’re too busy? Have enough responsibilities? Or limited resources..or you just don’t want to, like Jonah. Where are you?

I am reminded of the banquet in the bible that ended up being attended by the villagers because the intended guests could not make it. God is calling you ro dine with him today, to live a life of significance, to stretch and fulfill the great commission. You are an arrow in his quiver. Say yes to his call: ‘Christ I give you my life, because you can do so much more with it than I could ever do’ Obey instructions and you will be able to fulfill the assignment God has placed on your life.
If you are disobedient, someone else will be chosen.. be willing and available.
Ephesians 6:12-Remember that for whatever assignment, we have, we shall have spiritual opposition, but Jesus has overcome the world. You will win.

!!!MORDECAI REMINDED ESTHER!!! I am reminding you today. Step out in faith and walk on water like Peter did-You can do it.

And The Award Goes To……Drum rolls…

After a long covid spell, a season that seemed to persist regardless of every effort, we were very blessed to win this award. Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla lodge was voted Uganda’s leading Safari lodge again. This lodge is located on the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable forest and has since 2007 evolved from camp site to a beautiful lodge with 11 garden cottages, 3 forest suites and 3 family villas.

The views of the Virunga volcanoes will simply blow you away as you take a stroll via the dining area. This remote corner boasts of the untouched greenery that allows you to zone out the city life and gives you the experience of truly being one with nature. The people are warm, the food is exceptional and your gorilla trekking experience crowns it all. These endangered species act and behave just like human beings, so to watch them for an hour is of great interest to many international travelers. The community activities offerred around the lodge give you reason to stay longer. Be it climbing the famous Sabinyo mountain or taking a bird watching pocket forest walk, 4 nights or more are ideal to have it all.

The mist spa on the property is worth visiting whenever you return from a hike. Allow yourself to relax with a hot stone massage after a long day.

We won, I see why, and I am grateful. https://www.mountaingorillalodge.com/

  • Warrior

    Warrior

One of my most exciting projects this year was publishing my first book. I always felt I was a good writer and desired to write a couple of books somewhere on my life’s journey but I had never thought it would be so soon. The general perception is that books are wtitten by famous people.

To my surprise and after some encouragement from my husband, I enrolled into the Worship Harvest institute where every student must have a book by the end of the year. So I begun to pen down different lessons that I have picked up over the years and would like every human being to learn and value. In this book I have compiled various strories that teach on how to become the best version of who you were made to be.

It took 12 months of writing and a lot of interactions with my friends and editor to make it read worthy and transform it into a message that will encourage anyone to stand up, face their demons, fight back at life and win the race. It’s a true love letter of exhortation to the reader. Get yourself a copy today! https://africanbooks.com/bookinfo?id=59?Warrior?Ethel%20Kimbowa

  • Time is money.

    Time is money.

One of the first positions of responsibility I ever attained was being an Assistant Time keeper in primary school. My campaign slogan was ‘Time is Money’. From an early age, I knew the value of arriving early for an appointment. Later on, this determined why I would leave home an hour earlier if I was using pubic means. We all know how irritating it is to show up on time and have to wait 2 hours for a person to show up.

Value people’s time by showing up at least 10 minutes before the actual meeting kicks off. Another way to honor your time is to make the best use of it, this I picked from a youtube video Natalie Bitature shot with her father. He spoke about how the way you use your time eventually compounds. After a 10 year spun of time, you’ll be able to tell which individual has been diligent with the gift of time. We all have the same 24 hours. Ever asked yourself why some people are CEOs while some others are beggars, it comes down to how we utilize our time!

Spiritually, you need to be prayerful in order not to miss important instructions and Kairos moments. When you are obedient to the holy spirit, he will ensure you are in the right place, at the right time to meet the right person.

Time is an important tool for a person’s effectiveness. Value every second, minute, hour and day. Make them count!

  • More about the chosen Nation…

    More about the chosen Nation…

Allow me to tell you more about the different places that I still recall visiting on my pilgrimage to Israel. Did you know that most of these special places have cathedrals built over them in order to commemorate the sites? Multitudes of people flock these places for holy encounters. We stopped by the place where Jesus is believed to have given the sermon on the beatitudes and where he multiplied the fish and loaves of bread, and were able to enter the chapel set up there.

While in Cana, we bought both authentic olive oil and pure wine.

Later on, at the river Jordan, we had some of our team members baptized by immersion.

The next day we entered the fortified walls of Jerusalem to make our way to the monumental site where Jesus is believed to have been crucified.

You’d be surprised to learn that the pools of Bethesda are now dry but it was great to re-imagine the lame man who could not walk sitting beside them.

I made sure to write and leave my list of prayer requests tucked inside the wailing wall.

Outside the Jerusalem walls, the garden of Gethsemane has a chapel as well…

Visiting all these places brought the bible to life for me, walking in the footsteps of my savior and seeing where He was born, where he lived and died, and was buried made me one with him. For our final afternoon in Jerusalem, we had a special time of holy communion at the garden tomb.

One must not leave without visiting the holocaust museum in Israel, which documents how the Israelis suffered while exiled at the hand of other European countries. It presents a time to reflect and celebrate the hardships they’ve overcome and the nation they’ve become today.

You need a total of atleast 10 days for this pilgrimage.

  • Dubai Expo 2020!

    Dubai Expo 2020!

I promised I’d write another blog specifically about the Dubai 2020 expo. This expo was originally scheduled for October 2020 but had to be postponed because of the covid 19 global pandemic.

UAE made a heavy investment, creating a futuristic mini-city, 2 hours from the main Dubai city, a project that started way back in 2016. We had the privilege of experiencing this, visiting in the fall of 2021.

Each country had a pavilion of its own to showcase what makes them unique. Every individual starts off by acquiring a yellow passport which should be stamped by each of the 192 countries represented. The best pavilion was Germany because it incorporated a lot of forward technology to showcase the future of power generation and sustainability. UAE and Israel also had outstanding displays.

It wasn’t long before I realized you needed at least 3 days in order to exhaust all the countries. We were only able to visit about 20 countries. The lines are also quite long so one has to be prepared to stand for a while. It helps to have comfortable shoes since you’re on your feet the whole day! Amazing experience!!

  • Choosing the right life partner.

    Choosing the right life partner.

This is such a cliche topic to write about but hey, we all need some important advice from time to time. When you first meet someone, you can’t seem to spot their weaknesses, they are perfect in every sense of the word: the way they listen, their golden physical attributes, their ability to make you laugh, the vibe they give off to others, their devotion to God sometimes even challenges you to get serious about your Christian walk. Who knows it might be the way they give you special treatment from the rest. The perfect green lights whenever you meet up. How can you see through all these to ensure you are not falling for a fake?

My piece of advice would be to take it slow, and never rush down the aisle without taking time to study this person. Interact with them, check out their values, and listen to their dreams and aspirations. Don’t stop at asking and listening, pause and really ask yourself if you will be able to fit into or alongside their plans and consider what kind of adjustments you’d have to make to help them achieve their goals and your own. You should also take time to test the person, annoy them and check for their reaction. Thirdly, allow them to meet your friends and family, and do not deny any red flags that are obvious while you are dating.

Of course, to crown it all, pray and seek the holy spirit for wisdom. He will guide and advise you. Good luck with finding the one, remember, it’s a life commitment that determines your life’s direction, make sure you make a solid choice!

  • Arriving in Israel-The Holy Land.

    Arriving in Israel-The Holy Land.

I’ve read the bible cover to cover twice, doing my third round at the moment.

Every time I read about Israel, I assumed it still had that ancient description in the bible-yet it has evolved with time. Our first stop, once we crossed over the border, was a Kibutz. An example of a local community that co-operatively meets its basic needs like education, food, and health. The most unique aspect of it all was how they took extra care of their cows, allowing them to listen to music while they were milked. The cows were larger than any African cow I had ever set my eyes on.

We then went on to Masada, (featured image) an ancient fortification in the south of Israel. Here we listened to a victorious battle tale and were able to experience the cable cars that swung us from the top of the mountain to the bottom.

The evening was spent at the dead sea, which we dived into and rubbed ourselves with the dead sea mud that’s believed to have healing and beautifying properties. The dead sea is also the lowest point on earth. That day we went on to sleep in Jerusalem.

  • Pilgrimage from Egypt.

    Pilgrimage from Egypt.

My journey to the promised land started in Egypt, just like my brothers and sisters who walked this earth ages ago.

Once we got off the plane, what engulfed me was the cold December winter that I had not anticipated. We had to quickly search around for shops in order to purchase some warm jackets. Our first stop in Egypt was the magnificent pyramids that have stood the test of time! We then went on to have lunch on a floating boat on the river Nile, whose source is my motherland, Uganda. After another round of shopping, we went on to check in at our hotel and called it an evening.

The next day our destination was Mount Sinai, where Moses received the 10 commandments. Part of the group was able to hike all the way up to the summit.

While in Egypt, we were able to see where Jesus and his family hid after King Herod had ordered the mass killing of babies in Israel. Not only is Egypt, known to be the original enslaver of the Israelites but also a protector for our savior king. As we drove towards the border, we were shown the places Moses lived while he was exiled in the desert and the red sea.

On the fourth day we made our way across the border by road and I immediately observed how much more advanced Israel was compared to Egypt.

  • Dressing for your body type.

    Dressing for your body type.

The female body comes in different shapes and sizes: the first is a big burst, with a small waist, and large hips. The second could be a big burst and a small bottom. The third is a smaller burst and large bottom. Whichever body shape you are, big or small, tall, or short, God designed you perfectly and I’m sure you want to stand out at that function and look amazing. Join me as we figure out what to wear.

For the first body type, a fitting dress is very ideal for you. You can easily flaunt your curves with almost any attire. However, when you have a big burst and a smaller bottom, I recommend corsets to hold your bust firmly in place and a free-flowing material for the bottom. Blouses with a sweetheart neckline will do wonders for you!! Do not wear a fitting outfit all through as this does not flatter your ‘weak side.’ For the third category, try as much as possible to accessorize your chest with beautiful jewelry. Also, feel free to wear checkered patterns and bright colors for the upper half of your body. Jeans and T-shirts are also perfect for women with this body shape. Before you leave the house, ask for at least 3 opinions, and most importantly wear confidence because it is what you will need to rock any outfit of your choice.

As far as skin tone is concerned, I have observed that darker-skinned women look more striking when they wear white for example, but yellow might be trickier to pull off. Wearing one color all through is a growing fashion trend and any woman can try this in different shades of the same color. Personally, I believe red and black work for all different skin tones. Again, you might want to pick a last-minute opinion before you make that purchase.
